Lithuania hosting “Ajarian Days”3 August 2016
Georgian folk again attracted the attention of foreigners. The State Ensemble of Ajara was greatly appreciated at the event organized by the Department of Tourism of Ajara in Lithuania, Klaipeda. Georgian folklore was represented during two days at the festival which was attended by thousands of domestic and foreign tourists. The event held in Lithuania is a continuation of a new project of Department of Tourism which envisages holding of “Ajarian Days” in big cities of target countries. The folklore, cuisine and wine are represented at the event devoted to the region taking place in the closed space. Department of Tourism has already held “Ajarian Days” in Vilnius, Astana, Tel-Aviv, Minsk and Warsaw. Events were attended by representatives of leading media means, travel agencies and diplomatic corps and attracted attention of the local media.
Department is planning to represent Georgian intangible cultural heritage in Poland, Estonia, Lithuania and Ukraine. Also PR campaigns are planned to be held in the United Emirates of Arabia. Events are supported by the Department of Tourism and Ministry of Education of Ajara.
