Tourist facilities will be given quality marks1 February 2016
Registration of applicants for project “Recommended by Tourism Department” of Department of Tourism and Resorts has already started. Special web-site for the project Recommend.ge has already launched. Project member food and accommodation facilities as well as guides have the possibility to fill online application forms at the web-site or bring already filled application forms at the Department. Detailed information about project participation procedures and requirements is placed at Recommend.ge. Project participation is voluntary and applications will be received until 1 March.
Project “Recommended by Tourism Department” aims service quality enhancement and introducing safety and technical standards at food and accommodation facilities. The project foresees service enhancement of tourist guide and conferring special status to guides.
After reviewing applications project member food places and accommodation facilities will pass special technical examination which is based on 21 principles HotRec, Hot Star union approved in the world. Food places and accommodation facilities revealed under the project will receive special quality mark “Recommended by Tourism Department” which will be some kind of guarantee of reliability and quality for tourists. Quality marks are conferred to food places and accommodation facilities once per year and it should be renewed per year.
As for the guides, for the first stage of project “Recommended by Tourism Department” marks will be conferred to City guide, High Adjara Guide and Mtirala National Park Guide. Procedure of recognizing guides is made once per year – in autumn. Applicants should fill application forms and/or questionnaire at our web-site www.recommend.ge. Selected applicants will have test, interviews and provide demo excursions after which they will be given quality marks.
Newly operated portal Recommend.ge of Ajara Tourism Department will be sort of base where tourists and interested people will have the possibility to get necessary information about quality facilities.
