Cruise tourism perspectives were discussed at maritime forum13 September 2016
Today cruise tourism development perspectives were discussed at International Maritime Forum of Georgia in the Black Sea region. An international expert Peter Wild delivered a speech at the panel meeting, moderated by the Head of Department of Tourism, Mamuka Berdzenishvili. Peter Wild is the author of the cruise tourism development strategies within the region which was prepared by Department of Tourism. Peter Wild spoke about the challenges of tourism field within the region and focused on the ways of their settlement. The Head of Tourism National Administration of Georgia, Giorgi Chogovadze and the Rector of Batumi Maritime Academy, Irakli Sharabidze also devlivered a speech at the panel meeting devoted to the cruise tourism development perspectives. Chogovadze focused on tourism opportunities of Georgia and growing number of tourists in the country. Rector of Maritime Academy spoke about current touristic projects of the Academy.
International Maritime Forum is held in Georgia for the first times and it’s attended by the delegates from more than 40 countries. The main subject of the forum is “International navigation as indispensable means of transportation”. Forum was opened on September 12th, in Batumi and last till September 16.
