Ajara to be a host of rural tourism festival “Gandagana”7 October 2016
On October 28th rural tourism festival “Gandagana” will be organized in Batumi by Department of Tourism and Resorts. Ajarian autumn and village with its traditions will be represented at the European square within the festival, giving opportunity to guests of travelling in Ajarian villages without leaving city. Event will be a good chance for guests to discover the charm of Ajarian villages, rich Ajarian cuisine, traditions and folklore.
Thematic corners of rural, eco and wine tourisms will be arranged at the specially decorated European square. Exhibition and selling of products produced in Ajara and presentation-degustation of unknown Ajarian dishes will take place there. All municipalities of the region will be represented in the open air at the festival, with agricultural products, souvenirs and handicrafts characteristic to them, letting tourists and travel agencies imagine what they can see during travelling in high mountainous Ajara. A culinary master classes, joyful contests and competitions will also be held within the festival. Guests of the event will be entertained by local folklore groups and musical bands.
