The first Stage of technical examination for quality mark “Recommended by Tourism Department” applicants finished. Monitoring group of Ajara Tourism Department examined more than 30 accommodation and food facilities participating in the region. During monitoring mostly technical and safety standards of tourism facilities were checked which are based on 21 principals approved in the world HotRec, Hot Star union. Monitoring group issued written recommendations for tourism facilities, about revealed defects during examination.
From 1 may second stage of monitoring is to be started which only those food and accommodation facilities will pass which were given certain terms for remedies. In parallel with monitoring project “Mystery Guest” will identify service quality in tourism facilities.
“The very first result of monitoring can be deemed positive but in defects revealed in a number of cases are to be remedied. We have already issued written recommendations to facilities and explained what and how to remedy for the second stage of monitoring. In both stages of monitoring for the purpose of sanitary and food safety monitoring, National Food Agency and Sanitary Supervision Services of appropriate municipality will visit mentioned facilities. From 15 May we will submit elaborated monitoring results to Regional Board of Advisors and for the first of June we will jointly which facilities to receive quality mark,” declared Tamar Kaikatsishvili – Head of Service Development Department under Ajara Tourism Department.
For the first of June of recent year the very first tourism facilities having quality mark “Recommended by Tourism Department” will operate in Ajara region. Information about recommended tourism facilities will be published at department web-site Recommend.ge which will assist visitors to select tourism facilities and tourism services having desirable quality for them.
