Sakhalvasho village is a unique place for lovers of migratory bird watching. One of the world’s largest migration corridors for birds is located in the village of Sakhalvasho. A special migratory bird-watching platform is also located there. More than a million predatory birds are observed in autumn in Ajara migratory corridor. In this regard, Ajara takes the third place in the world. The season of bird watching officially starts from 15th August and lasts till October 15. About 1000 volunteers visit Sakhalvasho seasonally to observe the migration of predatory birds.
What to see: Apart from bird watching, there are other tourist attractions located close to the village - Batumi Botanical Garden, VI century Petra Castle (12.5 km), Mtirala National Park and more.
