Trainings for Ajara Tourist Information Centers

Training courses are being conducted for the Ajara tourist information centers to improve their service level. The employees of tourist information centers are being trained in different important subjects such as: the principles of effective communication with customers, international standards in tourism services, basic principles of sales, sales philosophy, product positioning methods and many other themes essential in the tourism industry. The head of the Tourism Department, Sulkhan Ghlonti met the participants of the training and talked about the importance of their job.

From the 1st of June, the nine tourist information centers of the region, including the funicular, airport and Batumi Central information centers, will operate 24 hours a day. Their staffs are trained every year to upgrade the skills.

“The number of tourists requesting assistance at information centers is very big. For example, last year about 90 000 visitors used their service and this number is increasing every year. In the current year, we have prepared for the summer season. Each tourist center will be able to provide complete information concerning the sea and mountain tourism products, routes, attractions and many other things. The tourist information centers are the main link in the relationship with tourists and it is important that each visitor be satisfied and as informed as possible about the tourism potential of our region”, stated the head of the Ajara Tourism Department, Sulkhan Ghlonti.
