In the framework of the fair, the Ajara Tourism Department representatives held meetings with the Sports and Tourism Ministry of Belarus, tourist and advertising companies. Georgia is an attractive tourist destination for Belarus and, from year to year, the number of Belarussian visitors essentially increases.

“Our countries closely cooperate in many spheres, including tourism. The tourism advertisement activities planned in Belarus play an important role in our industry, as we want to provide our potential tourists, especially young people, with the complete information on our country’s and region’s tourism resources. The number of visitors from Belarus increases every year. For example, last year Georgia had 47,988 Belarussian tourists, that is 29% more than in 2016. To promote tourism in Ajara we have been cooperating with the top-rated Belarussian media platforms and tourist companies for many years. This year the potential tourists will also get a lot of interesting information about our tourism opportunities”, stated the head of Ajara Tourism Department, Sulkhan Ghlonti. 

The Ajara Tourism Department participated in the exhibition together with the Georgian National Tourism Administration and tourist agencies. Until the end of this year, tourism products of Ajara will be presented at 25 international tourism fairs.
