Ajara Tourism Department have started a new project

Ajara Tourism Department have started a new project to promote domestic tourism. The lecturers and students of the state universities in Georgian regions get acquainted with the tourism potential of Ajara. The popularization of Ajara, as a four season tourist destination, started from Telavi State University.  The photos and banners of tourist attractions, sea and mountain tourism products and tourist services have been displayed at the entrance of the university since morning.

The university students were involved in different thematic games and competitions. The winners got a three-day travel vouchers for Batumi Summer Festival. The Tourism Department representatives gave the presentation to the students and lecturers, describing all mountain and sea tourism products of the region. During the presentation, guests could also watch the image videos, showing the diversity of tourism resources. The event was completed by the concert of the Batumi band “ASEA SUL”.  “It’s very important to us, to show people that Ajara is a four season destination. We have started the promotion of our region from Telavi University, where great interest was expressed towards Ajara. Students have been actively involved in our activity and received detailed information on how and where to travel in Ajara. Domestic tourism is the core of tourism development and we hope, that such presentations and projects will revive domestic tourism and help increase the number of young visitors”, stated Mikheil Koplatadze, the head of International Tourism Promotion Office. After Telavi, the tourism products of Ajara will be presented to the students and lecturers of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University.
