The graduates of the English Language Course at Goderdzi Resort were handed certificates in the framework of the “Tourism Development School”. The chairman of the Adjara Tourism Department, Sulkhan Ghlonti, has met the participants of the project today and discussed the goal of the course, the perspectives of the tourism development in Mountainous Adjara and the importance of the higher level customer service at Goderdzi Resort.

“Our main objective is to make Mountainous Adjara attractive destination all year round. Tourism is one of the most promising perspective for Mountainous Adjara. In order to facilitate communication with tourists and to raise the level of service, the trainings for the family hotel owners have been held throughout Adjara since 2017. We gave a month training course in English and prepared special video lessons that would help family hotel owners to study communicative language. Young people looked especially motivated. Together with the improvement of infrastructure at Goderdzi, the development of the service sector is also going on that plays a paramount role in tourism industry”- stated the chairman of Adjara Tourism Department, Sulkhan Ghlonti.

This year, more than 30 employees of Goderdzi tourism objects have been trained in the framework of the “Tourism Development School”. The participants of the course studied basic communicative English which is necessary in the hospitality industry. The Tourism Department has started the project for the first time this year, however it is going to be continued at another municipalities that represent active tourist destinations. In 2017-2018, in the framework of the Adjara Tourism Department project - “Tourism Development School”, about 1000 people were trained in tourism sector.
