The event was opened by the head of Adjara Tourism Department, Sulkhan Ghlonti. He gave a speech and showed a new image video of Goderdzi Resort.

“Goderdzi is a very important resort for our region. It, actually, plays a major role for Adjara, as a four-season tourist destination. 19 investment projects are being carried out at Goderdzi, that, as a result, will make possible to host 1000 tourists at a time. The ski resort stands out with the quality of snow, ski tracks and beautiful landscapes which makes it popular among tourists year by year. For instance, there was 80 % increase in the number of visits in Goderdzi, compared to the last year and this is really important for the newly opened resort”, said the head of the Adjara Tourism Department, Sulkhan Ghlonti.

The winter season at Goderdzi was symbolically opened by skiers skiing down the trails with EU and Georgian flags. The chairman of Adjara Government – Tornike Rizhvadze and other officials addressed a few words to the guests. At Goderdzi, adorned with special new-year decorations, guests can enjoy skiing, ride a cable car and listen to electronic music. The band – “Fourth Season”, Irakli Pagava and “GROOVE PHOENIX” take care of guests’ good mood.

Goderdzi is the only resort in Georgia which is being developed according to the Master Plan. At this point, at the resort there are 6 modern cottages, two hotels and 13 guest-houses which can host about 280 people at a time.

Besides, there is an eight-kilometer ski trail and two cable cars at the resort. In the central square of Goderdzi there are a restaurant, fast food facilities and ski and snow scooter rental. 200-meter medium slope is arranged so that children and beginners can ski here. The resort becomes more and more attractive for tourists, year by year. In 2017-2018, in order to improve the quality of service, the Adjara Tourism Department held training courses for the representatives of tourism objects. In the framework of the project – “Tourism Development School”, they were trained in communication English and service improvement.
