More than 700 guides and travel agents got acquainted with Mountainous Adjara

The Tourism Product Development Agency of the Adjara Tourism Department continues popularization of the mountainous Adjara. This time, it introduced the tourism resources of Machakhela Gorge to large Georgian tourist agencies. The participants of the info tour started their trip from Kemal Turmanidze Ethnographic museum, where Adjara is presented by more than 4 000 exhibits. After the museum, they visited Mirveti village with its wonderful box tree alley, waterfall and the arch bridge. They also passed through the Machakhela Gun tourist route, which includes Gvara Fortress, the World War Cannon, Machakhela Gun Monument, Tskhemlara Arch Bridge and Historical and Ethnographic Museum in Zeda Chkhutuneti. They also enjoyed folk dances performed by the Machakhela folk ensemble and tried local food at the guest house.

The Tourism Product Development Agency is working on the popularization of the tourism products of non-coastal area of the region. The development of about 15 different tourist routes took place in the mountainous Adjara and for the purpose of promoting, the Tourism Department introduced them to more than 700 guides and tourist agents during the last two years.
