Israel’s leading travel website – “Lametayel.co.il” named Batumi among the top 15 tourist destinations of 2018. It became the most-viewed city on the web. The representatives of the travel website presented a special award to Adjara Tourism Department and the Ambassador of Georgia to Israel at the International Tourism Exhibition. 

Popular travel website “Lametayel “contains more than 500 000 pages of information and besides the general page, it has 10 small online pages which are focused on separate tourist destinations. The website is considered to be the most searched one on Google in Israel. In average, it has about 1, 3 million unique customers every month.

”Israel is the important target country for Adjara and Georgia. The number of flights and international visitors from Israel is growing every year. In 2018, four air companies operated Tel-Aviv-Batumi flights and during the year, number of travelers increased by 55, 3 %. The fact that the leading travel website names Batumi as the best tourist destination of 2018, shows that the interest towards Adjara is great, which in its turn is the result of  hard work of the Tourism Department , the National Tourism Administration and the private sector”, stated the head of the Adjara Tourism Department , Sulkhan Ghlonti.
