On the 2-3rd of September Ajara is celebrating the city day “Batumoba”

This year, “Batumoba” is going to be held on the 2-3rd of September. The event, traditionally, will be arranged in the old part of Batumi on Memed Abashidze Avenue and Europe Square. Contrary to last year, Memed Abashidze Avenue will be decorated with girlands instead of umbrellas.

The program of “Batumoba”, September 2

12:00 – the ceremony of laying flowers at the memorial to the heroes fallen for the integrity of Georgia (behind Drama Theatre).

12:30 – march along Memed Abashidze Avenue, accompanied by a brass band.

12:30 – 17:00 – The concerts of the local musical bands on Europe Square

12:45 – the opening of “Batumoba -2017” at the ceremonial arch, a ribbon-cutting ceremony

13:00 – march along Memed Abashidze Avenue

  • The exhibition and sale of hand-made things on Abashidze street
  • Photo stands and Batumi installation, set up by volumetric letters. (Europe Square).
  • Exhibition and sale at the sea themed boxes.
  • “Green corner” arranged by the Batumi City Hall Greenery and Landscape Planning Service
  • Mirror installation
  • Revival of the history of old Batumi, photo exhibition and performance in front of Platon Gigineishvili’s house
  • Modern STREET ART installation
  • Puppet theatre performances
