Machakhela National Park

Machakhela National Park (total area: 8733 hectares) is located within the administrative borders of the Khelvachauri and Keda municipalities in Machakhela Gorge.

The territory is part of the ecological corridor and connects the western Georgian protected areas (Mtirala National Park and Kintrishi Protected Areas) and the northern Turkish protected areas (Jamil Biosphere Reserve) with each other.

The Caucasian Bee, Brown Bear, Caspian Snowcock, Caucasian Salamander, yew, the Chorokhi Oak, Rhododendron Ungerii, the Lazian Iris can all be found within the territory of Machakhela National Park.
