In the first week of October, Batumi is hosting a Rural Tourism Festival “Gandagana”, which gives the guests opportunity to discover many interesting things and travel around Mountainous Adjara without leaving the city.
The representatives of “Thomas Cook”- one of the world’s largest tourist company, are visiting Adjara at the invitation of the Adjara Tourism Department. They are getting acquainted with the tourism, business and investment potential of the region. The company’s managers dealing with tourism and avia companies have already met the management of the Adjara Tourism Department, the Mayor of Batumi and the Minister of Finance and Economy of Adjara.
The Adjara Tourism Department continues popularization of the region as a four-season tourist destination via international Media. This time the image videos of Adjara, apart from CNN, BBC, EURONEWS and DEUTSCHE WELLE, are broadcasted by the top-rated German TV channels “RTL” and “NTV”.
From the 3rd of September, Adjara is hosting International Birdwatching Festival. The program of the festival is already known. In the framework of the event, international experts from Great Britain, the United States and Holland will visit the region.
The service quality research is going on at housing and catering facilities in Adjara. To establish the service quality level, the Adjara Tourism Department is going to explore 200 tourism objects at all municipalities of the region, including 120 housing and 80 eating facilities.
Latvian Journalists prepare articles and reports about tourism potential in Adjara. They are visiting the region at the invitation of the Adjara Tourism Department. The Journalists have already seen the city’s basic tourist attractions, Batumi Botanical Garden, Gonio-Apsaros Fortress-museum and mountainous Adjara.
A new tourist route is being marked in Adjara for adventure tourism lovers. The name of the route is -"Chirukhi-Khikhani-Goderdzi, and its marking is carried out by the Tourism Products Development Agency of Ajara Tourism Department.

The graduates of the English Language Course at Goderdzi Resort were handed certificates in the framework of the “Tourism Development School”. The chairman of the Adjara Tourism Department, Sulkhan Ghlonti, has met the participants of the project today and discussed the goal of the course, the perspectives of the tourism development in Mountainous Adjara and the importance of the higher level customer service at Goderdzi Resort.
On the 3rd-8th of September, Adjara is hosting International Birdwatching Festival. In the framework of the event, foreign and Georgian ornithologists and volunteers from different countries will visit the region.
On July 29-31, Batumi will host about 40 students from 13 different countries. On the 29th of July, German, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Czech, Dutch, Estonian, Slovak, Slovene, Serb, Ukrainian, Hungarian and Russian young people will perform Adjarian dance in Batumi Boulevard.

The Adjara Tourism Department continues popularization activities in target countries. This time, the materials about our region’s tourism resources are being prepared by Belarusian, Azerbaijani and Ukrainian journalists. At the invitation of the Tourism Department, they were acquainted with Kobuleti tourism potential. During three days, the participants of the press tour recorded the best places to visit in Kobuleti- where to rest, what to see and where to travel.
The guide trainings, in the framework of the Tourism Development School, have finished. This year, about 60 active and new guides were trained by the Tourism Department on Keda and Machakhela routes.
The Tourism Product Development Agency of the Adjara Tourism Department continues popularization of the mountainous Adjara. This time, it introduced the tourism resources of Machakhela Gorge to large Georgian tourist agencies. The participants of the info tour started their trip from Kemal Turmanidze Ethnographic museum, where Adjara is presented by more than 4 000 exhibits.
Kazakh journalists are preparing reports and articles about tourism opportunities in Adjara. About 10 journalists of the top-rated TV companies and media houses are visiting the region at the invitation of the Tourism Department.
The Kintrishi Gorge tourism resources were introduced to the acting guides and the tourist agencies’ representatives. Their tour to the gorge was organized by the Tourism Product Development Agency.
